COMPLETION OF 20 YEARS AS MISSION UNIT OF SOUTH KERALA PROVINCE CELEBRATED

COMPLETION OF 20 YEARS AS MISSION UNIT OF SOUTH KERALA PROVINCE CELEBRATED: THE REGIONAL VICARIATE OF WEST BENGAL AND NORTH EAST INDIA OFFERED A THANKSGIVING MASS ON 6th June 2018 at PUSHPIKALAYA, KOLKATA AT 5PM presided by Archbishop Thomas D’Souza of Calcutta and concelebrated by around 10 priests mostly our friars and around 30 Rev. Sisters and others. Just before the Holy Mass Fr. Policarp Kullu ocd read a short history of the Mission Vicariate and as imtroduction Fr. Xavier Jayaraj welcomed all. St. Annes Sisters formed the choir. At the end Fr. Albert thanked everybody. After the Mass, we sang together SALVE REGINA in the New Community Hall of Sukhsagar Apartment and had Agpe shared also by friends and wellwishers. During the homily Archbishop inspired us all. He quoted the famous Missionary of Constant Lievens, who stated ” Fire burns” (if it is fire, it surely burns). St. Therese of Lisieux , the Patroness of the Vicariate had this flame in her heart. There are three ways it burns, a) in our friendship with the Lord, b) in our love for others and c) through suffering. St. Paul preached the Gospel even in chains. The 20 years’ celebration rekindled in our hearts that fire burning in the hearts of our forefathers in order to transmit it to the new generation. In this way our Archbishop made this occasion meaningful. ” MY SOUL, GIVE THANKS TO THE LORD AND NEVER FORGET ALL HIS BLESSINGS” (Ps.103).
